Body Art Certification Update:

The Georgia Department of Public Health has issued an extension for body artists and existing body art studios to get updated permits and certifications from their local Environmental Health office. Click here to read the Notice of Extension [PDF, 113.59 KB].

This is in reference to the new Rules and Regulations for Body Art that were adopted in March of 2023 to streamline and consolidate the process across the state. Initially, existing artists and studios had until October 6, 2024 to meet the new requirements, but that deadline has been extended to December 31, 2024.

If you have not already initiated or completed the application process, please contact your local environmental health office right away.

Visit the Georgia Department of Public Health Body Art page for more information about body art rules and regulations in the state of Georgia.
