    May 12, 2026 - The Long County Health Department is alerting residents that a raccoon in the county has tested positive for rabies.

    Liberty County Health Department Issues Rabies Alert

    May 1, 2026 - A resident of the Lake Georgia area of Midway noticed a raccoon behaving strangely and contacted the Liberty County Health Department. The raccoon tested positive for the rabies virus on Friday, May 1.
