Medical Care at the HIV CARE Centers

The Coastal Health District CARE Centers treat any HIV positive client over age 12, including those with a CDC-defined AIDS diagnosis. Available medical services include:

Care for HIV and other sexually transmitted illnesses
If you are enrolled in our CARE Center, each year you’ll need:

• 2 viral load lab tests
• 2 full physical exams

Your exams and labs can be done in our CARE Centers. We can refer you for other needed medical services that we do not provide on-site. You may also be able to participate in a clinical trial research study.

Dental Services
We can refer you to a local dentist for a free exam and cleaning every year. We may also be able to help pay for some additional dental procedures if recommended by your dentist.

Nutrition Counseling
We have dietitians on staff who can help you understand how nutrition affects your health, and help you learn how to make good nutrition choices.
